Hey folks,
Does anyone have any information on the charging curve of the EX30?
So far, all I've managed to find are a couple of quotes from reviewers, saying that Volvo engineers told them it was "fairly flat."
I'm yet to see a charging test, or any data to show how flat it is though.
Asking at the dealership gets me either a blank stare, or a made up answer!
Thanks!

Welcome to this forum
Haven't seen anything yet. May be different for the two batteries?

Thanks!
It will be different between the batteries for sure, as the maximum speeds are different.
The 'flatness' of a charging curve is really indicative of how good their battery cooling is, fingers crossed for some well-engineered DC charging.
I'll report back with what I hear, if nobody else gets there first!

Here's my best guess, based on Volvo quoting 26 mins 10-80%, using some averages and following a similar curve to other EV's with similar batteries. I've used the 69kWh battery as an example here.

I hadn't expected it to drop off so quickly.
Does this help at all?

Wow, yes, that does look like it stays higher for longer.
That gives an average rate of almost 114kW, which would mean 10-80% in roughly 24 mins. Perhaps they are under-promising and over-delivering!

That's the only video I've seen where they tested charging. A pity I can't understand German.

So that appears to translate onto paper thus if I'm correct. I've started at 12% since it seemed to ramp up from a low rate at 10%

Looks good, thanks Gloucester. Looking forward to trying it out when the demonstrators hit the dealerships!
I'm sure there will be some English-speaking charging tests soon, from the likes of Bjorn Nyland.
