I'm sure other EVs are also guilty of this either down to the heat pump design or trying to flatter efficiency numbers. Without wanting to repeat myself, I find the climate system to work fine in auto on low fan speed, heats the cabin up pretty quickly, it's just ambient cabin temperature is 4c below the displayed temperature.
Volvo cheating on heating?

I put it there for the photo. Moved it around the cabin and there was little variation. About 1C from floor to roof level.

I don't know if it measures the temperature wrong, but I do know that if I set a target temperature of 22-23°C, in Auto Slow mode( when the car is cold) it will take a long time to heat up the car, if it heats up at all. Now that I know how it works. I sit in the car, set it to 27 or 28°C and the car heats up very quickly. When I notice that it's hot I lower it to 22-24 and in general it maintains an optimal temperature. Would it be desirable for it to pump heat quickly, even when it's set at 23°C? Well yes, but as it can not do that, I already know what I have to do and it won't stress me out anymore. One day they will modify this lazy behavior when it comes to achieving a target temperature. Hope.

Have you not tried the built in fireplace app. Got to be good for 3C.

Ours had the same problem, unless set to 26 or 27 degrees the cabin was freezing cold.
The dealership admitted this was a known problem and for once there was a fix. The temperature at least is now much closer to the value on the display.
The car had 1.5 applied during this visit but I didn't get a clear explanation of whether the climate fix is part of 1.5 or another software fix applied to one of the subsystems on the car. Either way if you are in a cold climate book it in and they can fix it. (a rare statement for this car!)
Ours also had the reverse problem in summer, so time will tell if it now maintains temperature in warmer weather too.

Unfortunately fixing the heating problem is not part of 1.5 update. Volvo said in Oct 2024 that they are aware of the problem and advised the dealers to not change anything as it’s not a hardware problem and to not accept warranty claims about that issue (!). And that’s going to be fixed in week 42 of 2024. But may be they had in mind well 42 of 2025 if any…Moriston wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 4:29 pm Ours had the same problem, unless set to 26 or 27 degrees the cabin was freezing cold.

After the 1.5 update, for me, the heating issue has been fixed.

For me - not. The car is with the dealer now and they confirmed that the issue still persist. Also with a few other cars standing there with the same issue. And also for the brand new cars that they are delivering to the customers.grumpyParkMaster wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 7:51 pm After the 1.5 update, for me, the heating issue has been fixed.

After the 1.5 update I thought the heating was better but today it is back to normal. Nothing was adjusted but suddenly the fan speed increased and it started to blow cold air.grumpyParkMaster wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 7:51 pm After the 1.5 update, for me, the heating issue has been fixed.
