For such a big car the exterior styling has scaled well from the EX30. Interested to see what they have done with the interior as I doubt the minimalist theme of the EX30 would transfer so well.

It's just the other way around. The EX90 was earlier (2022) than the EX30. But problems with the software ( ) (and lidar) delayed its introduction to late 2024. The styling of the EX30 is based on that of the EX90. You often see this with car brands, such as the Mercedes C-Class “ looks” like the S-Class.

The software mess with the EX90 is even bigger than with the EX30. Mainly because of the so called core computing. They even don't let the central computer to shut down for 72 hours. Also plenty of problems between the core system and the peripheral modules. Here Volvo prohibited the deliveries and sales to customer(s) until further notice. So, you could imagine what a nice car it is. Delayed almost 3 years with no light on the horizon...

Another victim of the very high prices per character they charge these days to post something on the internet. I understand why he couldn't give us any further feedback on the actual test drive but we do sleep a bit better tonight knowing user si7160 got to drive one :)

If it’s that bad it’s a wonder they even brought it to market! Probably only sell a couple of them then withdraw it. Bit like the EX30.

The dealer who supplied my new car last week had just taken delivery of 2 EX90 cars. They had planned a free test drive weekend event, but both of the cars weren’t working and the technicians weren’t able to resolve the issues which were software related.

The sales guys were not impressed.

some nice implementations on software, 360 camera zooms when you are close to a object
sound system (optional) is very good
usual issues like Lidar is not working , indicators dont cancel , one pedal drive limited
some fuzzy logic slowing down without being on adaptive cruise when cars pulled into your lane on the motorway
not helped as dealers don't really know anything about these so tend not to give you a overview of the differences and advantages of driving a EV,
was able to test on motorway - more at home and some minor roads on the hills,
needs a different set up on twisty cold roads - 22 inch on summer isn't the best for this but reasonable progress can be made using limit points , though 2.8 t limits this due to tyre and wheel configuration
I assume it would be for corporate market as the price is high , so for long distance motorway - sweet spot
