New to Volvo

Hey Everyone.

Just had my New Volvo EX-30 Twin Motor Performance delivered last Tuesday.

Still getting used to an all electric car but so far I'm impressed with the car.

Easy to drive but also load to learn techwise.

How are you all finding it?

I'm sure I will be asking loads of questions in the next months! XD

Its worth spending some time looking through all the threads already here. It will save you finding (and asking about) all the software bugs/errors. I find the car is great, but the software is rubbish and looks like no-one tested it (except all us new EX30 users who are 'testing' it for Volvo now).

I would recommend the same as Graham to be honest, alot of the people on here either have the same issues and have resolved them somehow or are pending on the resolution.

Unfortunately this software is basically the first version of it so is cram-packed with lots of little annoying bugs & glitches...hoping the updates continue to be regular and more stable in the future.

This is my 6th or 7th Volvo, and is easily the best car I have ever owned (had it 6 weeks now)

Before ordering my wife and I discussed if we should go now (with all the expected teething problems) or wait a year for Volvo to iron them out.

Any major new product, especially with software, will have teething problems. No matter how well tested, once it goes into full scale use - unforseen things crop up. I have experienced introductions of new technology several times at work, and there were always glitches to be ironed out.

We took the risk in going early and have no regrets.

The only problem I had was 6amp/32 amp charging issue, which was fixed in 1.3.1. Unfortunately 1.3.1 then broke the charging timer, hopefully they will fix that too.

I know some others have other issues.

To me the biggest problem is the 'manual'. Give me a book anytime (but then it would need reprinted with every software update). Far too difficult to find the relevant subject. Not enough information on each subject. How do you know if you have found and read all subjects, or is there some important or useful information I have missed? (I only heard about calm mode yesterday reading this forum, and I thought I had read everything).

Anyway so far, I am very happy.

Interesting, regarding the manual. I sent feedback about various aspects of my EX30 around a month after I got it. Suggesting having a PDF manual (for download) was near the top of my list. No reprint cost and much easier to find things. When a new manual comes out or updates are made, just download a new PDF.

Interesting! Have you ever owned anything other than a Volvo?

It’s hands down the worst car I’ve ever owned. So much so I’m trying to sell it after only 6 weeks and 1500 miles.

Yes I have owned several other makes, and in my previous employments have driven many other cars from an even wider variety of manufacturers that were owned by my employers.
