I got the idea for the plants when I bought two real ones at a garden centre and needed to ensure they stayed upright:
The mats were cut out of a £29.95 roll of very decent artificial grass from B+M - I have enough left over for the boot and rear seat backs once I get round to fitting it. Importantly the rear mat is once piece side to side - I can't imagine why Volvo's don't go right across:
The grass has a plastic backing with a few holes in it to let water out (when it's actually a lawn) so will largely protect the original mats underneath, and can be taken out for jetwashing clean if required.
