I hope that this problem has not already been addressed in some other discussion, but it seems not.
Over the last few days, when I reverse, I often hear a warning sound that doesn't seem to be the usual warning sound of the parking sensors (continuous sound, with a different tone).
The first few times I was immediately alarmed and stopped, but there was no obstacle behind the car.
Has anyone experienced this?
Strange sound warning when reversing
Are you referring to a melodic continuous sound like you’d expect in a sci movie when a spaceship takes off? If so, that’s the noise the car makes to indicate the car is reversing. Lots of EVs have varying noises when driving to alert people to an otherwise virtually silent car. And is perfectly normal. Apologies for the unusual description of the noise but that’s my best attempt. Hope this helps.
@M01
I understand what sound you mean. It is also combined with a faint beep, right?
No, this is another warning sound, similar to that of the parking sensors when you are very close to an obstacle (continuous sound) but the note is different from it

I forgot to say that It happens randomly, though quite frequently.
When I hear the acoustic warning (continuous beep) the display shows this
Maybe it is the Cross Traffic Alert function, activated by the rear radar

Actually it happens without traffic behind the car, maybe there is a bug

Brief update for my problem, which seems to have only me among the members of this forum.
This morning I got a call from the national Volvo service and after only an hour the dealership workshop of my town called me.
Almost certainly one of the two rear radars has a fault.
I will take the car to the workshop in the second half of this month (occasional problem, so not urgent)

Brought the car to the workshop this morning.
After all the appropriate checks and seeing that there was no error message in the ECU, they speculated that the problem was due to the license plate holder being too low, so they raised it slightly.
But it's just a guess, let's see what happens in the next few days
