I got my EX30 in early May. On July 6th the car briefly warned me that the 12v battery was not being charged, and subsequently stopped, in the middle of the road (thankfully a quiet one). The car would not move for several minutes, then recovered to allow driving a short distance to a layby. Volvo assistance recovered the car and it has been with the dealer since then. I spoke to them again today, replacement part available "on back order" and no idea when this will arrive.

Has anyone experienced the same issue (the equivalent of an alternator seems to have failed). 8 week old car, now been in the garage for 3 weeks, no end in sight. Not a great advertisement Volvo!

BTW when the 12v battery is fully depleted the car is not lockable or drivable!

That sounds pretty rough. Have you got your car back yet?

Not heard of this on the EX30, but early versions of the Tesla Model S in the uk and worryingly for me (as it’s on order) the Kia EV9.
I still can’t quite fathom why a lead acid / 12v battery is required in an EV!

Unfortunately I also had this issue back in March 2 weeks after delivery. I ended up rejecting the car.
